The DDA outlines the provision for the requirements of people living with a disability. Part M of the Building Regulations Act 1984, access and facilities for disabled people, outlines that all buildings to which the requirements in Part M of these regulations apply, are accessible to and useable by disabled people. How can Possum assist with adherence to the Disability Discrimination Act? With Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT). EAT assists in this provision by providing disabled people with the means to access and use the facility by providing the means to control the environment in which they are in. EAT enables disabled users to not only open and close doors, windows and curtains but also to control TV’s, intercoms, Telephones and many other appliances. |
